In addition to the return of the Fiesta's expanded and revamped Educational Exhibit, "Feel the Fiber", the 2011 Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta will be hosting an additional educational exhibit, the Centennial Exhibit, celebrating textiles from the era of New Mexico's statehood. See the Centennial Website for more information. (A special lecture on this exhibit will take place in the Fiesta stage area on Saturday, May 28th, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.) In conjunction with this exhibit, the Fiesta will be hosting a special Centennial Artist, Beatrice Maestas Sandoval, a New Mexico leader in the art of colcha embroidery. |
