SPECIAL EVENTS
The first thing visitors to the Fiesta saw was the purple Snug Buggy outside the Creative Arts Building
The Completed Snug Buggy.
The Dropped Stitch Knitters Guild members assembled purple 5-6" squares in all types of fiber art techniques to make a "cozy' for a VW Bug. The license plate is a hooked rug; tatted doilies are headlight covers. University Volkswagen in Albuquerque loaned a VW for this occasion. The covered car was on display outside at the Fiber Arts Fiesta held at the EXPO New Mexico grounds, May 24-26, 2007. Each square represents a donation of $5 per square given to S.A.F.E. House, New Mexico's largest shelter and service provider for survivors of domestic violence. Fiesta Visitors were generous and the fundraising was declared a success.
